Job Title: X-Ray Technician
Location: New York, NY
Shift: Evening/Day Mix
Schedule: Wed: 2:00 PM – 8:30 PM; Thu-Fri: 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM; Sat: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 37.5
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Description:
The X-Ray Technologist operates radiologic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. Responsible for preparing patients for procedures, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining imaging quality standards. Works collaboratively with healthcare teams to deliver effective patient care in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures
- Operate X-ray equipment and adjust exposure settings for optimal imaging
- Ensure radiation safety using proper shielding and protection techniques
- Maintain quality of radiographs and make necessary adjustments
- Document patient care and imaging results accurately
- Follow infection control policies and procedures
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues
- Manage radiology inventory and supplies
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Participate in continuing education and maintain CME requirements
- Collaborate with team members to support patient care
- Complete age-specific competency requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist
- New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T) required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
