Facility: Methodist University Hospital
Location: 1265 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38104
Start Date: 06/01/2026 Or 06/15/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (07:00 PM – 07:00 AM)
Schedule: 4x12-Hour
Note: Med/Surg Oncology Unit | 48 hours/week required | Level I Trauma experience required | Travel experience required
Position Overview:
The MS/Tele RN provides comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity medical-surgical and telemetry setting, with a focus on oncology and post-surgical care.
Job Duties:
- Provide direct patient care, assessments, and documentation
- Monitor telemetry and manage cardiac conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and chemotherapy (if certified)
- Perform wound care, manage drains, ostomies, and Foley catheters
- Manage central lines (PICC, Client, midlines) and PCA pumps
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care
Requirements:
Licensure: Active RN License (TN or Compact State)
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent MS/Tele experience (Strict)
- Level I Trauma & large hospital experience required
- Travel experience required (at least 1 assignment)
Certifications:
- BLS – Required
- NIHSS – Required
Other Requirements:
- Must be willing to work 48 hours/week
- No first-time travelers (unless 3 years recent experience)
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- Candidates must reside 100 miles from facility
Unit Details:
Unit: 6 North – MS/Tele (Oncology Focus)
Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
Ratio: 1:6–7 (Team Nursing Model)
Beds: 45 | Census: 30–35
Patient Diagnoses:
Surgical oncology, medical oncology overflow, med/surg patients requiring telemetry, wound care, and post-operative management
