Description

Job Title: Labor & Delivery (L&D) Nurse at Henry Ford West Bloomfield
Location: 6777 W Maple Rd, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48322
Shifts: 7 pm to 3:30 am

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
Postpartum experience is required
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Description:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
Monitor fetal heart tones and uterine activity using electronic fetal monitoring equipment
Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures (e.g., C-sections)
Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed
Provide pain management, including epidural monitoring and support
Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., fetal distress, hemorrhage)
Perform newborn assessments immediately after delivery and assist with neonatal resuscitation when required
Educate patients and families on labor processes, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies
