Job Title: RN – Acute Rehab Unit (ARU)
Location: St. Joseph, MO
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 06/02/2026
Shift: Nights | 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Setting: Acute Inpatient Rehab Unit

Role Overview:
Seeking an experienced Rehab RN for a fast-paced Acute Rehab Unit caring for adult and geriatric patients recovering from strokes, surgeries, fractures, weakness, and other medical conditions requiring intensive rehabilitation therapy. Candidates should be team-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working closely with PT/OT/Speech Therapy teams.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2 years Rehab or Med/Surg experience
• BSN required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass Basic EKG exam (80% or higher)
• Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted with 2 years experience

Certifications Required:

• BLS
• NIHSS
• ACLS preferred

Clinical Skills:

• Stroke/TIA and post-surgical patient care
• Dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV starts and lab draws
• Fall prevention and mobility assistance
• Rehab-focused nursing care and patient education

Schedule & Work Expectations:

• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday block scheduling required
• Floating to like units as needed
• Self-scheduling available but limited based on unit needs

Facility Details:

• 352-bed Level II Trauma & Stroke Center
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Avg Census: 15 patients
• Charting: Epic
