Job Title Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location Detroit, MI
Shift 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule Monday–Friday with On-Call rotation (1 weekend every 6 weeks; weekday evenings every 6 weeks)

Job Description
Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs invasive interventional radiology procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating pathological conditions. Responsible for patient preparation, assisting in complex procedures, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and documentation standards.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Prepare and position patients; explain procedures and obtain relevant medical history
  • Assist Radiologist with complex invasive diagnostic procedures
  • Prepare contrast media, medications, and IV solutions
  • Set up and maintain sterile field, equipment, and monitoring devices
  • Operate imaging equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic images
  • Ensure availability and proper storage of supplies and instruments
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures
  • Perform radiation safety practices in compliance with ALARA principles
  • Manage PACS and RIS documentation including image quality and study completion
  • Perform quality assurance and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Assist in training new staff and students as needed

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS (Healthcare Provider) Certification
  • ARRT Certification with advanced registry in one of the following: CI, VI, or CV
  • Must maintain continuing medical education hours
  • Strong knowledge of interventional radiology procedures and safety practices
