Job Description:
Certified Surgical Technologist needed for an Operating Room setting in Watertown, NY. The Surgical Tech will function under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients. The role involves maintaining a sterile environment, ensuring proper functioning of surgical equipment, and assisting surgeons during procedures. Candidates must be experienced, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assist in preparation of the operating room and surgical patients
• Maintain sterile field and ensure all instruments are properly sterilized
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during surgical procedures
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment safely and efficiently
• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
• Perform cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection of equipment
• Support departmental tasks and may precept new staff
• Respond promptly to call requirements (within 30 minutes)

Requirements:

• Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or NCCT required)
• Minimum travel experience required
• Must have Orthopedic (Ortho) experience
• Must have scrubbing experience
• Must have DaVinci surgical system experience
• BLS certification required
• Completion of pharmacology course or medication administration experience required
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control practices
• Must be willing to work weekends, call, and holidays
• Must reside at least 100 miles away from the facility
