Job Title: RN – Mother Baby
Location: Detroit, MI
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 3x12 (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend Required

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Mother Baby Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will have strong experience caring for high-risk mothers and newborns in a fast-paced acute care setting. Candidates should be confident in patient education, documentation, and multidisciplinary communication while delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum mothers and newborns
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor maternal and neonatal conditions and respond appropriately to changes
• Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Support discharge planning and patient teaching initiatives

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN License required
• BLS (AHA) required
• NRP required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN preferred
• Previous experience in a high-risk Mother Baby setting required
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Self-starter with excellent critical thinking abilities

Schedule & Unit Details

• 36 hours/week
• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• OT billable after 48 hours/week
