Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Position Overview:
The MS/Tele RN will provide care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced ER border/IMC setting. The RN will manage a wide variety of medical-surgical and telemetry patients awaiting inpatient placement while delivering safe, high-quality nursing care in a high-volume environment.

Job duties:

1. Provide direct nursing care for MS/Tele and ER border patients
2. Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and dysrhythmias
3. Administer cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, heparin, and insulin drips per protocols
4. Manage patients with stroke, post-MI, cardiac, respiratory, neuro, orthopedic, renal, and medical-surgical conditions
5. Perform IV therapy, central line care, PICC line care, and blood product administration
6. Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy care
7. Assist with wound care, feeding tube management, and continuous bladder irrigation
8. Respond to rapid response/code situations and emergency patient care needs
9. Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
10. Follow infection control, PPE, and isolation precaution guidelines

Requirements:
Licensure: Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License required
Experience: Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required; previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers accepted
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI required; NIHSS preferred (AHA certifications only)
Other requirement: Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced ER border environment with high patient volume and floating within scope

Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric Patients
Patient Diagnoses: Wide variety of ED admission diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, respiratory, orthopedic, renal, and medical-surgical conditions
Number of Beds: 47
Daily Census: Minimum 10 boarders up to 32–40 boarders daily
