Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Facility: AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – Mainland Campus
Location: Galloway, NJ

Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (6:30AM – 5:00PM)
Schedule: 4x10 Hours
Charting System: Cerner & PowerChart
Float Required: Yes – first to float from Mainland to City campus if needed
Call Requirement: Yes – (2) 48-hour weekend call shifts and (14) weekday call shifts within 6 weeks
Note: CVOR experience required | First-time travelers accepted | Locals accepted at same rate

Position Overview:

The Operating Room RN will provide perioperative nursing care in a CVOR and General OR setting, assisting with cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, robotic, and general surgical procedures. The RN will circulate surgical cases, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Job duties:

1. Circulate cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, robotic, GYN, and general OR surgical procedures
2. Assist with CABG, TAVR, vascular bypass, aneurysm repairs, thoracotomy, and cardiac surgeries
3. Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environment and surgical instrumentation
4. Monitor patients throughout perioperative procedures and respond to intraoperative emergencies
5. Assist with vascular and hybrid OR procedures
6. Operate OR equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and fiber optic equipment
7. Perform infection control and universal protocol/time-out procedures
8. Document patient care accurately in Cerner and PowerChart systems
9. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary surgical teams
10. Participate in weekday and weekend on-call coverage as scheduled

Requirements:

Licensure: Active NJ RN License or Compact RN License required
Experience: Minimum 1 year of OR experience required; CVOR experience required; circulate experience with vascular/hybrid cases required
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
Other requirement: Cerner and PowerChart experience required; scrub experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted

Patient Diagnoses: Cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, GYN, and general surgical conditions
