Unit: LDRP (Labor and Delivery)
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Job Summary
Meritus Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery / LDRP unit. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby care. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and neonatal care.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
Epic charting experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
Travel experience not required

Required Certifications

BLS
NRP
FHM
AWHONN Intermediate or C-EFM preferred

Required Skills & Experience:
Labor & Delivery

Assist with vaginal deliveries
Circulate and recover C-sections
Hemorrhage and shock management
Sterile vaginal exams
Fetal monitoring
Forceps/vacuum extraction
Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Prostaglandins, and Terbutaline administration

Neonatal & Newborn Care

APGAR scoring
Baby Catcher experience
Newborn assessment and thermoregulation
Phototherapy
Infant identification and discharge teaching
Newborn hypoglycemia management

Antepartum & Postpartum Care

NST (Non-Stress Tests)
External/Internal fetal monitoring
Triage of obstetrical patients
Breastfeeding and lactation support
Foley catheter management
Fundus, lochia, and perineal care
Wound assessment and postpartum hemorrhage care

Additional Skills

IV therapy and infusion pumps
Administration of blood and blood products
Epidural anesthesia and pain management
Isolation precautions/PPE
Vaccine administration

Unit Details

32-bed LDRP unit
Will float to Postpartum and Mother-Baby as needed
Call requirement: approximately 16–20 hours in a 6-week schedule
