📍 Location: St. John Hospital – Michigan
🏥 Department: Inpatient Rehabilitation (IPR)
📅 Contract Length: 8 Weeks (Possible Extension and/or Conversion to Full-Time)
⏰ Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
💼 Schedule: 4 x 10-Hour Shifts
🚑 Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OTR) to join the Inpatient Rehabilitation team at St. John Hospital. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat patients with physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial deficits, helping them achieve the highest level of independence and functional performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' ability to safely perform activities of daily living and independent living skills.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including treatment frequency and goals.
- Implement therapeutic interventions using appropriate treatment modalities.
- Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding functional deficits and rehabilitation strategies.
- Coordinate discharge planning and recommend adaptive equipment and community resources.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy technicians in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Master's Degree preferred
Experience
- Inpatient Rehabilitation experience required
- Acute Care experience preferred
- Strong new graduates may be considered and trained
Certifications & Licensure
- Current Occupational Therapist Registration (OTR)
- Michigan Occupational Therapy License required prior to start
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required
