Note: Auto Offer – Candidate must accept without interview. First-time travelers accepted only with 2 years CVICU/Open Heart experience. Local radius rule: 50 miles from facility. Flu vaccine required.

Position Overview:
CVICU Registered Nurse providing critical care management for post-cardiac surgery and advanced cardiovascular patients in a high-acuity intensive care environment.

Job duties:
Provide direct clinical care to critically ill CVICU patients including post-operative cardiac surgery (CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR). Manage mechanical circulatory support devices including ECMO, Impella, IABP, and pulmonary artery (Swan Ganz) catheters. Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring using FloTrac systems and interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, cardiac medications, continuous sedation, paralytics, and IV insulin protocols. Manage ventilated patients including suctioning, ventilator support, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula therapy. Provide CRRT/CVVHD support for renal failure patients. Monitor and manage chest tubes, arterial lines, central/PICC lines, and groin/radial access sites. Respond to acute cardiac emergencies including STEMI, cardiogenic shock, and post-op complications. Maintain infection prevention standards, isolation precautions, and coordinate multidisciplinary critical care interventions.

Requirements:
Must have strong CVICU or open heart ICU experience (minimum 2 years preferred for first-time travelers). Must be comfortable with high-acuity cardiac critical care and rapid clinical decision-making.

Licensure:
Active MD RN License or Compact RN License

Experience:
Minimum 1 year required; 2 years CVICU/Open Heart strongly preferred

Certifications:
ACLS, BLS (AHA required)

Other requirement:
Must be willing to float, work every other weekend, and accept auto-offer without interview. CPI certification may be required during compliance.
