Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 3x12 Nights, Weekend Coverage Required

Position Overview:

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care for antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, mother-baby couplets, nursery, and neonatal patients in a Critical Access Hospital. The RN delivers safe, evidence-based maternal and newborn care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes for mothers and infants.

Job duties:

Provide nursing care throughout antepartum, labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and mother-baby care, assist with vaginal deliveries, perform newborn assessments including APGAR scoring, provide neonatal care in the delivery room and Level I Nursery, care for postpartum patients following vaginal and cesarean deliveries, monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications and IV therapy, perform fetal monitoring, provide newborn stabilization and resuscitation as needed, educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care, maintain accurate EMR documentation, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

Licensure: Current New Mexico RN License or Compact RN License
Experience: Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby experience required; LDRP, Couplet Care, and Nursery experience required; First-time travelers accepted
Certifications: BLS (Required), ACLS (Required), NRP (Required), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (Required)
Other requirement: Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR preferred. Must be able to work weekends.

Unit: LDRP/Mother/Baby/Couplets/Nursery
Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
Patient Diagnoses: Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, Mother/Baby Couplets, Nursery, and Neonatal patients requiring routine maternal and newborn care.
Number of Beds: 25 (Hospital Staffed Beds)
