Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Facility: Mount Sinai West 
Location: New York, NY
Start Date: 08/03/2026 
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 3x12 | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM 
Every Other Weekend 

Position Overview:

Mount Sinai West is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to Med Surg/Telemetry patients.

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.

  • Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in patient condition.

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC.

  • Participate in bedside shift reports, purposeful hourly rounding, and patient safety initiatives.

  • Delegate tasks appropriately and provide guidance to support staff.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

Unit Information:

  • Unit: Medical Surgical/Telemetry

  • Average Census: 22 patients

  • Beds: 24

  • Patient Ratio: 1:5

Requirements:

  • Active New York State RN License

  • BLS 

  • ACLS 

  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry and Critical Care experience

  • Telemetry monitoring experience

  • Ventilator experience

  • EPIC EMR experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • Associate Degree in Nursing accepted with relevant experience and/or active enrollment in a BSN program.
