Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery
Facility: Cibola General Hospital
Location: Grants, NM
Start Date: 07/13/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 3x12 Nights, Every Other Weekend, 36 Hours Guaranteed
Charting System: Cerner
Float Required: Yes

Position Overview:
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to laboring mothers, postpartum patients, newborns, and stable infants in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. The RN delivers evidence-based maternal and neonatal care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to promote safe outcomes for mothers and newborns.
Job duties:
Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, monitor maternal and fetal well-being, perform fetal heart rate monitoring, assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, provide immediate newborn assessment and stabilization, care for stable and ill newborns until transfer if needed, administer medications and IV therapy, perform neonatal resuscitation as required, educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care, monitor for maternal and neonatal complications, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, maintain accurate documentation, and float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed within scope of practice.
Requirements:
Licensure: Active New Mexico RN License (or compact license if applicable per state requirements)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery/LDRP RN experience required; Travel experience required
Certifications: BLS (Required), ACLS (Required), NRP (Required), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (Required), STABLE (Preferred), OPS (Preferred)
Other requirement: Must have LDRP experience with the ability to provide OB care, postpartum care, care for stable infants, and stabilization of sick infants.

Patient Ratios: 1:2
Patient Population: Mothers, Newborns, Neonates
Patient Diagnoses: Labor and delivery patients, postpartum mothers, newborns, stable infants, and neonatal patients requiring stabilization and routine maternal-newborn care.
