Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Facility: Sinai Hospital (LifeBridge Health)
Location: Baltimore, MD
Start Date: 07/20/2026
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
Schedule: 3x12s, Every Other Weekend, On-Call as per unit needs
Charting System: Cerner
Float Required: Yes
Call Requirement: Yes – per unit needs

Position Overview:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides safe, age-appropriate perioperative nursing care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. The RN collaborates with the surgical team to ensure quality patient outcomes while supporting a wide variety of surgical specialties, including trauma and robotic procedures, in a fast-paced Level II Trauma operating room.
Job duties:
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care by circulating surgical cases across multiple specialties including Trauma, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Ophthalmology, GYN, Colorectal, and Robotics.Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment, maintain sterile technique, perform patient assessments, verify surgical consents and Universal Time-Out procedures, administer blood products as needed, monitor patient safety throughout procedures, assist with specimen handling and labeling, support emergency responses including malignant hyperthermia and code situations, operate specialized equipment including the Da Vinci robotic system, ensure infection prevention standards, collaborate with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams, and provide patient and family education throughout the perioperative process.
Requirements:
Licensure: Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience; Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred; Charge Nurse experience preferred; First-time travelers accepted
Certifications: BLS (Required); 16-hour Maryland Approved Trauma Course (Required); 8-hour Annual Trauma CEUs (Required); ACLS (Preferred); NIHSS (Preferred); PALS (Preferred)
Other requirement: Experience circulating in General OR and Trauma cases. Proficiency in Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, Oral/Dental, Laparoscopic, Urology, Ophthalmology, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures.
Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, wound management, blood administration, cardiac monitoring, catheterization, specimen handling, Universal Protocol, and Da Vinci robotic system preferred.

Patient Diagnoses: Surgical patients requiring Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, Oral/Dental, Laparoscopic, Urology, Ophthalmology, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedic, Robotics, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures.
Number of Beds:
Daily Census: Average 40 surgical cases per day
