🩺 Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
📍 Burlington, NC 27215
⏳ 13 Weeks Contract (Extension Possible)
🚀 Start: 07/20/2026

Shift: Night – 3x12 Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• EPIC documentation system utilized

🏥 Unit Details:

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Acute care hospital environment

📋 Requirements:

• Active RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
• BLS Certification required
• NIHSS Certification required
• EPIC experience required
• First-time travelers welcome

⭐ Preferred:

• Telemetry on-unit monitoring experience
• Previous travel nursing experience

🩺 Required Skills:

• Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Remote telemetry monitoring (required)
• Telemetry on-unit monitoring (preferred)

• IV starts and IV management
• Peripheral IV, PICC line, and central line care/management
• Port access and blood product administration

• Feeding tube care and management
• Patient assessment and monitoring
• Nasal cannula oxygen therapy

• Stroke (CVA) patient care
• Isolation precautions and PPE compliance
• Wound care and wound VAC management

• Multidisciplinary patient care coordination

🩺 Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients
• Monitor and assess patient conditions

• Perform IV starts and maintain peripheral and central vascular access
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to rhythm changes

• Administer blood products and medications safely
• Manage feeding tubes, PICC lines, ports, and central lines

• Provide wound care and manage wound VAC therapy
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC

• Float to all Cone Health facilities as required to meet staffing needs
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient-centered care
