🩺 Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
📍 Reidsville, NC 27320
⏳ 13 Weeks Contract (Extension Possible)
🚀 Start: 08/24/2026

Shift: Night – 3x12 Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

• Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required to all Cone Health facilities based on staffing needs
• EPIC documentation system utilized

🏥 Unit Details:

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit

Patient Population Includes:

• Acute and chronic respiratory illness
• General Medical-Surgical patients
• Post-operative general and gynecologic surgery patients
• Total knee and hip replacements
• Orthopedic patients
• Acute and chronic pain management
• Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) / Pulmonary Edema
• Diabetes (Hyperglycemia & Hypoglycemia)
• Renal failure
• Drug overdose
• Cardiac arrhythmias
• Stable COVID-19 patients
• Suicidal patients
• Patients with CIWA scores below 7
• New onset or uncontrolled seizures
• Patients receiving radioactive therapy

📋 Requirements:

• Active RN License
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience required
• BLS Certification required
• Successful completion of the required Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding

⭐ Preferred:

• ACLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification

🩺 Required Skills:

• Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Orthopedic nursing

• Respiratory care
• Post-operative patient care
• Cardiac monitoring

• Diabetes management
• CIWA assessment and monitoring
• Seizure precautions

• COVID-19 patient care
• IV starts and IV management

• Administration and monitoring of:

• Heparin infusions
• Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN/TNA)

• Patient assessment and multidisciplinary care coordination

🩺 Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients
• Monitor and assess patient conditions across a diverse medical and surgical population

• Perform IV starts and maintain vascular access
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes

• Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized infusions safely
• Care for orthopedic, respiratory, cardiac, diabetic, renal, neurological, and post-operative patients

• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC
• Float to all Cone Health facilities as needed to support staffing requirements

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
