Location: New York, NY 10029
Shift: 5x 7.5 Mon – Fri (12 PM to 8:00 PM)
Duration: 9 Weeks
Total Hourly Pay Rate: $80
Weekly Gross: $3000

Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist operates and prepares specialized MRI equipment to perform diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures. This role requires applying technical expertise and judgment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while following established protocols and meeting patient needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI imaging procedures according to department protocols.
- Position patients and MRI coils appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, including the process, imaging area, and necessary preparation instructions.
- Review patient safety screening forms before allowing patients into the MRI scan room.
- Ensure MRI images are properly labeled according to department standards.
- Evaluate image quality and ensure images are transmitted to PACS accurately and efficiently.
- Complete all required documentation in IDX/Radiology Information System in a timely manner.
- Maintain MRI room cleanliness, including equipment cleaning and removal of soiled linens before and after shifts.
- Scan and maintain patient-related documentation.
- Ensure availability of required supplies and accessories for safe patient care.
- Accurately document patient tracking information in IDX.
- Schedule imaging exams in IDX as needed.
- Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Assist physicians during procedures as required.
- Coordinate patient transport/call for inpatient exams when needed.
- Perform clerical duties when support staff is unavailable.
- Follow MRI safety protocols to prevent unauthorized ferromagnetic materials from entering the scan area.
- Follow infection control policies to ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in required training, in-services, and professional development activities.
- Maintain required licenses and certifications in good standing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, physical sciences, and MRI physics.
- Excellent technical skills and ability to perform MRI procedures accurately.
- Knowledge of MRI safety standards and imaging protocols.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience preferred.
Education Requirements:
Required:
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT/JCERT-approved Radiologic Technology program.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (LRT).
- ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT MRI Registry certification.
- BLS Certification required.
- IV Certification required.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Additional Requirements:
- Must have active NY DOH license.
- Must be MRI ARRT certified.
- IV certification required.
