Position Overview

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

• Shift: Night (4x12 Hours) 19:00 7:00

• Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week (Please specify the traveler's preference at submission. If not specified, 36 hours/week will be assumed.)

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• On-Call: Not required

• Patient Ratio: 1:4–5

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience

• First-time travelers are welcome

• Must successfully pass the facility's EKG exam (required with no exceptions)

• Travel pairs are not accepted

Required Certifications

• BLS

• ACLS

• NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Floating

• Must be willing to float to other comparable units within scope of practice based on facility needs.

Candidate Eligibility

• Local candidates are not eligible (must live more than 50 miles from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center)

• Pending RN licenses are not accepted

• Requested Time Off (RTO) is subject to manager approval

• Interview availability must be included with every submission

Guaranteed Hours

• Travelers may have up to 2 call-offs during a 13-week assignment.

• After the allowable call-offs are used, the remaining contracted hours are guaranteed.

Traveler Policies

• Previous employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.

• Travelers may complete 2 consecutive contracts (one extension allowed). After that, a 6-month break is required before returning.
