RN – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
Shift: Night

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 2 years of recent ICU experience ( required)
• EKG Exam: Must pass EKG exam – no exceptions
• First-Time Travelers: Not preferred; may be considered based on manager review and years of experience
• Licensure: Active license required (pending licenses not accepted)

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Schedule

• Patient Ratio: 1:2–3
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: Not required
• Block Scheduling: May be accommodated based on unit needs and manager approval

Floating

• Must be willing to float within scope of practice and between like units to meet facility needs.

Traveler Guidelines

• Local Travelers: Not accepted (must live more than 50 miles from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center)
• Guaranteed Hours: Travelers may be called off up to 2 shifts during a 13-week assignment. After that, contracted hours are guaranteed.
• Return Traveler Policy: Must be away from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (initial contract one extension). Eligible to return after a 6-month break.

Time Off

• Requests for time off (RTO) are subject to manager approval.
