Facility: Mount Sinai St. Luke's – CL9 Psychiatric Unit
Start Date: 08/03/2026
Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join the CL9 Psychiatric Unit at Mount Sinai St. Luke's. The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, patient-centered treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Monitor patients' physical and mental health status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with patient safety standards.
Requirements:
- Active New York State RN License
- BLS Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or PMCS Certification – Required
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience (geriatric psychiatric experience preferred per facility requirements)
- SEL and SCR forms required for onboarding.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to work every other weekend

- Average Daily Census: 20 patients
- Unit Capacity: 29 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
