Registered Nurse – Stepdown
Facility: Mount Sinai Health System
Location: New York, NY
Start Date: 08/31/2026
Duration: 8 Weeks (Through 10/31/2026)
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 3x12 hours/week, Every Other Weekend Required
Charting System: EPIC

Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse provides safe, evidence-based nursing care to stepdown patients by utilizing the nursing process, critical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and relationship-centered care while ensuring quality and patient safety.
Job duties:
- Assess, monitor, and manage cardiology, telemetry, and VAD patients using critical thinking.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, discharge planning, and disease prevention.
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care while maintaining quality and patient safety standards.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
Requirements:
License: Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License
Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; 2 years of cardiology, telemetry, and VAD experience; 1 year travel experience (travel positions)
Certifications: BLS
Other requirement: Associate Degree in Nursing with relevant experience and/or active BSN matriculation; BSN preferred; English proficiency required.
