Registered Nurse (RN) – Rehabilitation / Medical-Surgical
Location: Mount Sinai West, New York, NY
Facility: Mount Sinai Health System
Contract Duration: August 31, 2026
Schedule: Days, 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Job Summary
Mount Sinai West is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Rehabilitation/Medical-Surgical Unit. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult rehabilitation and medical-surgical patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong rehabilitation and Med-Surg experience, excellent assessment skills, and a commitment to evidence-based nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process.
- Assess, monitor, and manage rehabilitation and medical-surgical patients.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, rehabilitation goals, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
- Promote patient safety and maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist with patient throughput and discharge planning.
- Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- BLS Certification.
- CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) Certification.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
- Ability to work every other weekend.

- Unit Capacity: 24 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
