Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Cardiac Stepdown | Washington, DC

📍 Location: Washington, DC
📅 Start Date: July 27, 2026
📆 Contract: 13 Weeks
🕒 Schedule: 3x12 Day Shifts (36 Hours/Week)
📍 Local Requirement: Candidates must live 50 miles from the facility.

Job Summary

Join a 48-bed Cardiac Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit providing specialized care for cardiac and vascular patients. This unit includes 4 pulmonary care beds and 10 cardiac surgery beds (travelers are not required to care for cardiac surgery patients). The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry and cardiac stepdown experience, be comfortable managing cardiac drips, and thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Common Patient Diagnoses

  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

  • NSTEMI

  • Cardiac Arrhythmias

  • Vascular Surgery Patients

Common IV Drips

  • Heparin

  • Milrinone

  • Lasix

  • Bumex

Requirements

  • Active RN License (State/District)

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Telemetry/PCU experience

  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (Required)

  • Cerner experience (Required)

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program

  • BSN preferred
