Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Stepdown Unit / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Nights: 4 x 12s (7 pm to 7:30 am)
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
Note: To qualify you need current experience in this unit or speciality if not then will recommend you other good options too

Key Responsibilities

· Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.

· Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, oxygenation, and neurological status.

· Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments according to physician orders.

· Care for patients with conditions such as:

o Cardiac disorders (CHF, MI, arrhythmias)

o Respiratory illnesses requiring high-flow oxygen or BiPAP/CPAP

o Sepsis recovery

o Stroke and neurological conditions

o Post-operative patients requiring close observation

· Interpret telemetry and promptly report changes in patient condition.

· Manage central venous catheters, PICC lines, chest tubes, wound vacs, feeding tubes, and drains as appropriate.

· Educate patients and families regarding medications, disease processes, discharge planning, and follow-up care.

· Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
