Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
Location: 2601 Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11235
Facility: South Brooklyn Health
Start Date: October 7, 2026
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3x12s | 36 hours/week

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in an acute-care hospital setting. The RN will assess patients, administer medications, provide post-operative and wound care, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
Provide direct bedside nursing care to patients.
Administer and document prescribed medications.
Perform IV therapy, wound care, and catheter care.
Monitor vital signs and telemetry and report changes promptly.
Provide post-operative care and monitor for complications.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment and care.
Assist with discharge planning.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Follow nursing standards, infection-control practices, and facility protocols.
Float as needed to units of equal competency, including the ED hold area for stable admitted patients.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in an acute-care hospital setting.
Most recent relevant experience should be within the past year.
Strong skills in physical assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, infection control, and post-operative care.
Telemetry monitoring experience.
Patient education experience.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
Active New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification.
AHA BLS certification.
AHA ACLS certification
EPIC EMR experience preferred.
