Hours: 38 hours/week
Shift: Three 7:30 AM–6:30 PM shifts and one 7:30 AM–4:00 PM shift weekly
Position Overview
Woodhull Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Wound Care to provide specialized nursing care for patients with wounds, ostomies, continence issues, fistulas, and other complex wound conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong Med/Surg experience along with hands-on wound and colostomy care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform wound, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wound assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans.
- Provide and evaluate wound and pressure injury prevention/treatment.
- Manage wound care supplies, specialty beds, and negative-pressure therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients, families, and clinical staff on wound and ostomy care.
- Monitor and document patient responses and treatment outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote wound care best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, patient confidentiality, and professional nursing standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience.
- Hands-on wound care experience.
- Colostomy care experience.
- Active New York State RN License.
- AHA BLS certification.
- Current certification in at least one of the following:
- CWOCN – Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse
- CWON – Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse
- CWCN – Certified Wound Care Nurse
- CWS – Certified Wound Specialist
- WCC – Wound Care Certified
