Surgical Technician First Assistant – Clinton Township, MI

Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: 5×8s or 4×10s, Monday–Friday
Start: 6:20 AM earliest
Weekends: None
Overnight call: None

Must-Have Requirements

• BLS – AHA required
• NBSTSA CSFA certification required for STFA candidates
• Proficiency with closing total joints and/or bedside assistance for robotic cases
• One education requirement:
  • High School Diploma 2 years experience, OR
  • GED 2 years experience, OR
  • Associate Degree, OR
  • Technical Degree
• Must be able to scrub cases if floated

RNFA Candidates

RNFA candidates are accepted, but confirm the required bill rate with Alex before submission.

If an RNFA is floated, they are expected to work in the OR Circulator role rather than scrub.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient positioning and maintaining safety/comfort
• Surgical-site exposure, retraction, suctioning, sponging and irrigation
• Temporary and permanent hemostasis
• Wound closure and dressing application
• Drainage-system placement/security
• OR setup according to surgeon preference cards
• Instrument/resource preparation
• OR cleanup and removal of used supplies/case carts
