Certified Surgical Technologist – Operating Room
Location: Watertown, New York

Shift: 8-hour Days, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Contract Type: Travel Only
Radius Rule: 100 miles

Requirements

• Must be Certified Surgical Technologist
• Travel experience required
• Orthopedic (Ortho) experience required
• Strong surgical scrubbing experience required
• Da Vinci/robotic surgery experience required
• BLS required
• Completion of an accredited Certified Surgical Tech program preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection of OR equipment/instruments
• Must be able to work under the direct supervision of an RN
• Must be experienced in maintaining a sterile surgical environment
• Must be able to safely operate and prepare surgical equipment/instrumentation
• May be required to precept new staff

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Days: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required
• Holiday coverage required
• Call required, despite the contract field listing OnCall as "No"
• Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes when called in
• No floating required

Responsibilities

• Serve as the scrub person during surgical procedures
• Prepare the surgical room, equipment, instruments, and supplies
• Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures
• Assist surgeons during surgical cases
• Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely
• Assist with preparation and care of surgical patients
• Respond quickly and accurately to changing surgical situations
• Perform other departmental duties as assigned
