Registered Nurse – Cardiac Tele

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays required as scheduled
Patient Ratio: 1:4 nights

Float Required: Yes – within specialty as needed
Call Requirement: No pre-scheduled call; may be placed on call in lieu of call-off
Note: 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted with strong CPU/PCU experience and ability to manage higher acuity. Combined unit requiring higher-acuity and PCU experience.

Position Overview:
Provide telemetry and higher-acuity nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions, including CHF, COPD exacerbation, NSTEMI, new-onset atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias, sepsis, and renal failure/AKI.

Job duties:

• Monitor telemetry patients, interpret dysrhythmias, and provide emergency cardiac response as clinically indicated.
• Manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, and other respiratory support.
• Administer and monitor cardiac medications and non-titrated cardiac drips while assessing for changes in patient status.
• Provide IV therapy including peripheral and central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, and blood product administration.
• Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care while maintaining infection-control and isolation precautions.

Requirements:
License: Active MD or Compact RN License
Experience: 2 years RN experience; strong CPU/PCU experience with ability to manage higher-acuity patients
Certifications: BLS, CPI, NIH required; ACLS preferred; AHA certification requirements apply
Other requirement: First-time travelers accepted with strong CPU/PCU experience; every other weekend required; must be comfortable floating within specialty.
