Note: High-acuity 16-bed IMC/ICU Stepdown unit. First-time travelers accepted. Holidays required as scheduled.

Position Overview:

High-acuity IMC/ICU Stepdown RN providing care to adult patients requiring close monitoring and advanced medical management, including respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, renal failure, oncology, transplant, and post-ICU care.

Job duties:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and continuous monitoring for high-acuity IMC/stepdown patients.
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ventilators with secure airways, tracheostomies, and continuous pulse oximetry.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage patients with Afib, DVT/PE, dysrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Administer and monitor IV medications, insulin protocols, heparin therapy, chemotherapy, IVIG, and blood products.
• Assist with and provide care related to central lines, chest tubes, dialysis, plasmapheresis, cardioversion, bronchoscopy, and other advanced procedures.

Requirements:

License: Active MD or Compact RN license at time of submission.
Experience: 3 years of RN experience; IMC/PCU/DOU/Stepdown experience required. First-time travelers accepted.
Certifications: BLS and CPI required; ACLS preferred. AHA certifications required.
Other requirement: Epic experience required. Must be comfortable floating within skillset. Flu vaccine required with no exemptions.

Patient Diagnoses: COPD, respiratory failure, asthma exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetes/DKA, DVT/PE, Afib, COVID, oncology, renal failure, pre/post-transplant patients, CVA, trauma/surgical patients, trached/vented patients, PEG/feeding tube patients, and ICU stepdown/post-extubation patients.
