Description
Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland 21215
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights 3x12hrs 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m
Weekly gross: $2520/36hrs
Start date: 11/09/2026
Position Details
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Experience Required: 2 years of PICU experience
- First-Time Travelers: Yes, accepted
- On-Call: No on-call requirement
Weekend Requirement
- Traveler will be scheduled for 5 weekends within each 6-week schedule
- Weekend coverage may consist of either a Saturday or Sunday shift
Floating
- Floating is required based on hospital needs
- Traveler must be able to float to NICU and Pediatrics within their scope of practice
Block Scheduling
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Any schedule accommodations must be included with the submission and approved before the offer
Required Certifications
- BLS/BCLS
- PALS
- Basic EKG Exam
Licensure
- Maryland or Compact RN license required at the time of submission
Local Candidates
- Locals are accepted by LifeBridge.
RTO / Holiday Restrictions
- The system will auto-approve 14 days or less of RTO
- Every other winter and summer holiday is required, with no RTO approved
- No RTO on hard-to-fill days such as:
- Easter
- Mother's Day
- Father's Day
- Other designated hard-to-fill dates
Unit Information
- 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Serves infants, pediatric, and adolescent patients
- Common diagnoses include:
- Respiratory distress/failure
- DKA
- Seizures
- Pain management
- Sepsis
- Patient care may include:
- Moderate sedation
- Continuous drips
- Arterial lines
- Central lines
- Orientation: Approximately 40 hours, including virtual, clinical, and on-unit orientation
Required Clinical Experience
- PICU experience
- Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Central line and PICC line management
- Anti-seizure medications
- Continuous sedation
- IV vasopressors
- Pediatric dosage calculations
- ICP monitoring
- Ventilated pediatric patient care
- Acute airway management
- BiPAP/CPAP
- ABG interpretation
- Chest tube management
Required Equipment Experience
- Ventilators
- High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- BiPAP/CPAP
Charting System
- Cerner experience required
