Description:

• 2-year plus experience in either MedSurg, or LTAC or ICU accepted
• IV Cert preferred (will need to do IVs)
• RNs will perform full patient assessments for start of care
• EOW - weekend requirement

- Oral medication administration
- Medication administration via G tube and Nasogastric tube
- IV medication administration
- Electronic medical record documentation
o Basic Computer Skills
- Care of G tubes and J tubes, including:
o Flushing
o Gastric residual check
o Dressing change
o Bolus tube feed administration
o Continuous tube feed administration
- Placement of peripheral IVs
- Skilled in phlebotomy
- Care of central lines (PICC lines and ports), including:
o Pulsatile flushing technique
o Cap changes
o Assessment of blood return
o Drawing blood off a central line
o Sterile dressing change
o Accessing a port
o De accessing a port
- Basic wound care and dressing changes
- Drain care
- Wound vac maintenance
- Catheter care:
o Foley catheter insertion
o Foley catheter care
o Straight catheterization
- Blood Transfusions
- TPN administration
- Basic rhythm analysis and care of patients on telemetry
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Ventilator management (excluding adjusting settings)
- Ostomy care and applying a new bag
