Description
The School Psychologist supports students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development by providing comprehensive psychological services within the school setting. Working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams, the School Psychologist helps identify student needs, develop effective intervention strategies, and promote positive educational outcomes.
Primary responsibilities include conducting psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to determine eligibility for special education services, interpreting assessment results, preparing comprehensive reports, and participating in eligibility, multidisciplinary, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. The School Psychologist also consults with educators and families regarding learning, behavioral, and mental health concerns, develops evidence-based intervention strategies, conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), assists with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and provides individual or group counseling services when appropriate. Additional responsibilities include supporting crisis intervention efforts, monitoring student progress, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, collaborating with outside agencies, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Qualified candidates will possess a Master's, Education Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution and hold a valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist. Candidates should have strong knowledge of psychoeducational assessments, special education laws, and evidence-based intervention practices, along with excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting and bilingual abilities are preferred but not required.
We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, retirement plans, professional development opportunities, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the academic and emotional success of students in a supportive educational environment.
