Description
St. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking a full time Registered Nurse to join our amazing CVOR team. Are you looking to help make a difference in the community that you live and work? Our surgeons and invasive cardiologists have a passion for their work and are looking for an experienced RN to join the amazing team.
Schedule: M-F, 0; 1.0 FTE 80 hours per pay period. Some on call additional responsibilities. Call response time is 30 minutes.
Unit Summary
The CardioVascular Operating Room (CVOR) at St. Luke’s is our heart and vascular specialty OR, serving cardiothoracic, thoracic, vascular and endovascular service lines. The unit has one surgical hybrid room in addition to three operating rooms. Patient population is primarily adults. RNs on our team also give conscious sedation.
Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of a surgeon, the First Assist RN provides assistance to the surgical team during the intraoperative phase of surgical care.
- Works in collaboration with the surgeon and health care team in the performance of surgical procedures, including assessment, planning, directing, providing and evaluating advanced nursing care.
- in collaboration with the health team members, may participate in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients.
- Collaborates with other health team members to develop, coordinate and implement a perioperative plan of care unique to individual patient needs.
- Intraoperative
- provides knowledge based technical assistance to the surgeon during the operative procedure according to standards, licensure, state regulation and facility/practice protocols.
- Postoperative patient management in collaboration with other health care providers.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Nursing Degree
- Experience: 1+ years experience as a circulator required
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of PracticeLicenses/Certifications: BLS required, CVORhighly preferred
