Job Summary
Cuready Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse - Operating Room to support patient care and clinical operations within healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and maintaining compliance with facility policies and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, specializing in oncology and general surgery.
- Float among service lines as needed, adapting quickly to different surgical disciplines and teams.
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and trainings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of procedures and policies.
- Take on potential night shift rotations and off-shifting on a flexible schedule, as required by facility needs.
- Fulfill call requirements, including 1-2 nights per week and 24-hour weekend calls approximately every 4-5 weeks.
- Ensure adherence to facility protocols, including a no nicotine policy and compliance with charting systems such as Epic.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience, with recent oncology surgery and general surgery experience.
- Current BLS certification and ability to manage oncology-specific procedures including Whipple, Esophagectomy, and more.
- Preferred experience in trauma level I or II settings with proficiency in Da Vinci surgical systems.
- Experience in charting using Epic is required for efficient documentation and communication.
- Ability to handle various surgeries such as mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and colorectal surgeries with expertise.
- Comply with Nebraska Medical Center's policies, including being a 100% nicotine-free facility and adhering to call-back protocols.
