Specialty populations cared for on the unit include patients with a diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post lung transplant. 29 beds unitGen Care (ratio 1:4)IMC (ratio 1:2) Special Procedures/Unit Details : We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN): Work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to acutely ill surgical and trauma patients in an academic medical and Level 1 Trauma Center. Join a team of remarkable nurses and have the opportunity to care for both general care and IMC level patients in a 26-bed step down unit, where critical thinking and team work is a must. Work in a collaborative environment, where nurses are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team with a strong voice in advocating for quality patient care.PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required.MS/Tele experience preferred. Special Equipment : *** Must have experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital *** Must have completed 2 years of ACUTE CARE exp within the last 3 yearsNeed vent and transplant experience. Unit will not consider anyone who is not strongly proficient in these areas. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. #Tier3 Travel Compliance Floating : Travelers are required to float as needed. Local Rule : 50 miles from the facility. Locals not accepted. Minimum experience : Inpatient RN travelers must have two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to . References : please remove all references. Pass /Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3 rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure] Passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric Exam Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia Passing score of 80% or higher Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts the assignment will be cancelled.
