It takes intermediate medical patients and surgery overflow such as TURPS, lap chol, lap appy, lap hernia, eye surgery, oral surgery, diabetic teaching, and wound care. It is a fast paced unit that is necessary for throughput both out of the ED and OR.First-timers accepted: (Y/N) NoHoliday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit.Weekend REQ: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke s 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S.Certs REQ: BLS, NIHSSWork Settings: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown.Skills REQ: Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams. Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols. Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/Renal: Continuous Bladder Irrigation IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs. MEDICATIONS: Heparin Protocols, PCA. Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA. Respiratory: Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank. Special Procedures/Unit Details : - Special Equipment : - #Tier2 Travel Compliance Floating: May be required between departments, units and facilities as needed travelers would need both Kansas and Missouri or compact in hand at time of submission. The unwillingness to do so will result in a cancel. Radius/Local Rules: No local candidates accepted within 75 mile radius. No local travelers allowed, except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants. RTO: Max of 7 days of RTO for Aya Offer (7+ must be sent for approval along with any holiday RTO). Tenure Policy / Returning Staff and Tenure Policy (excluding Interim Leadership and RNFA roles): 18 months with a 3-month break in service required. Permanent employees (across BJC and/or Saint Lukes) must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. Booking Rules: BJC does not permit contractors to sign a contract and subsequently cancel it in order to accept another BJC assignment. Contractors are expected to fulfill the terms of their signed agreement in full. Mid-contract cancellations for the purpose of booking a different BJC assignment are not allowed. If a contract is canceled at the contractor s discretion, they must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity. Compliance : Compliance Deadline: Docs will be due 2 Fridays before the start date. There are also 10-15 hours of modules to be done as part of compliance, which are due Monday 1 week prior to start.
