This traveler will be responsible for covering both X-Ray and CT modalities while on shift and must be comfortable working independently in a rural hospital environment.Assignment DetailsStart Date: June 22 or June 29Assignment Length: 13 weeksSchedule: Friday, Saturday, and SundayShift: 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.Hours: 36 hours per weekDepartment: Diagnostic ImagingLocation: Pagosa Springs, ColoradoPosition SummaryThe XR/CT Technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic and CT imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury. This position will support the mission and values of Pagosa Springs Medical Center while providing high-quality imaging services, maintaining patient safety, and working collaboratively with providers, radiologists, patients, families, and other hospital departments.The traveler selected for this assignment must be able to independently cover both XR and CT while on shift, including general radiography, CT imaging, patient positioning, contrast-related procedures within scope, image evaluation, documentation, and coordination with ordering providers and radiologists.Required QualificationsApplicants must have:Current ARRT Radiography registryCurrent ARRT CT registryCurrent AHA BLS certification for healthcare providersExperience performing both X-Ray and CT examsAbility to work independently during weekend night shiftsBasic computer skills, including experience with electronic health recordsStrong communication, critical thinking, and patient care skillsThree or more years of clinical imaging experienceCerner experience requiredPreferred QualificationsPrior rural hospital, critical access hospital, or emergency imaging experienceEssential ResponsibilitiesPerform quality X-Ray and CT imaging using proper positioning, technique, and protocolsCover both XR and CT modalities while on shiftReview provider orders for appropriateness and communicate with providers as neededAdminister contrast according to site-specific protocols and within scope of practiceComplete required CT contrast consent documentation when applicableEvaluate images for technical qualityCommunicate effectively with radiologists, providers, patients, and team membersFollow radiation safety practices and use appropriate protective equipmentTransport and assist patients safely, including use of wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital bedsComplete documentation accurately in the electronic health recordFollow National Patient Safety Goals and use at least two patient identifiersMaintain confidentiality and comply with all PSMC policies and proceduresAssist providers, other departments, and hospital staff as neededWork EnvironmentThis position is performed in a hospital setting and may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable disease, radiation, chemicals, hazardous materials, stressful situations, frequent interruptions, and the physical demands associated with positioning, lifting, and transporting patients and equipment.About Pagosa Springs Medical CenterPagosa Springs Medical Center is a rural hospital serving the Pagosa Springs community and surrounding region.
