It serves as a critical entry point to the health system, working to rapidly stabilize patients for admission or transfer across the broader continuum of care.The department is designated as a Level IV Trauma Center and an Acute Stroke Ready Center, and it has been recognized as a Pediatric Ready Emergency Department. These designations ensure timely, evidence-based care for patients across the lifespan and for a wide range of clinical presentations.The department includes 20 exam rooms and 19 vertical care spaces, with the ability to flex an additional 20 exam rooms to meet surges in demand and maintain efficient patient flow during periods of high volume.The team coordinates closely with ground ambulance services and Med Flight to provide seamless care for critically ill and injured patients ,from the field through definitive care.In addition, EMH ED nursing and ED tech staff serve as the hospital s rapid response team, delivering emergent assessment and intervention throughout the entire facility. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3 rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure] Passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric Exam Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia Passing score of 80% or higher Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned.
