Work with a variety of both medical and surgical neuro patients on this 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit. Post-surgical cases may include spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy or ophthalmology cases. Special Procedures/Unit Details : The neurological patient population on this unit may include multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, trauma or ortho patients with multiple injuries/diagnosis or spinal fractures requiring orthotics.Join our interdisciplinary team of stroke professionals. UW Health is proud to a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program in WI with the ability to treat the most complex stroke cases in the state.Help provide the highest level of diagnosis and treatment options for people with epilepsy. Provide patient and family centered care while partnering with a dynamic multidisciplinary team of nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, coordinated care, Advanced Practice Providers and medical teams who provide high quality, evidence-based care. Minimum experience : Inpatient RN travelers must have two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to . References : please remove all references. Pass /Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3 rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure] Passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric Exam Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia Passing score of 80% or higher Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts the assignment will be cancelled.
