Position: Registered Nurse, Cardiac Progressive Care, Stepdown, IMCU

Location: Worcester, MA

Unit Details: This is a pre/post recovery unit for heart/vascular lab, cath lab, structural heart.

            High STEMI volume- will hold in cardiac short stay until bed available

Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: 2-3 weeks from job offer

Hours: 36

Shifts: M-F only. 6a-6p or 6a-2:30p, or a combination of 8 & 12 hour shifts. (Traveler's choice). Day Shift 

Requirements: 2+ years of experience. First time travelers ok.

                        Certs: BLS, ACLS

Pay Rate: $2,945 /week

The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professional practitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care Unit RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistently performs according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.  The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimes also called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition or intermedia unit. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
• One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
