Facility: Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals – St. Joseph Hospital
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Weekdays & Ever other weekend
Hours: 36 per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Compensation

Local: $1,692/week
Travel: $2,002/week total package

Position Overview

Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals – St. Joseph Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical RN to provide high-quality care on a surgical-forward Med-Surg unit. The RN will support a diverse population of postoperative patients and must be skilled in clinical judgment, assessment, and coordination of care in a fast-paced acute setting.

This role requires strong familiarity with postoperative recovery, wound management, drains, and surgical-specific nursing interventions. RNs will chart using EPIC and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary staff to support safe and efficient patient outcomes.

Unit / Clinical Details

Surgical patient types include:

• Nephrectomy
• Colectomy
• Amputation
• Ostomy management
• Surgical drains

Additional skills preferred:

• Negative-pressure wound therapy
• Pain pumps
• TPN
• Central line care

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct Med-Surg nursing care for postoperative patients
• Perform assessments and document care accurately in EPIC
• Manage wound care, drains, and surgical recovery needs
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain nursing and facility standards of care
• Support safe, efficient patient flow and care delivery

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice)
• BLS (required)
• NIHSS (required)
• ACLS (preferred)
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Minimum 1 year RN experience preferred
• Full English proficiency (verbal & written)
