Schedule: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Hours: 36 per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Compensation

• $53/hour
• Approx. $1,908/week
• OT: After 40 hours (per facility policy)

Position Overview

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnering with Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center – West Burlington to fill multiple Telemetry RN contract positions. This assignment is ideal for nurses with strong cardiac monitoring skills who are comfortable managing telemetry and Med-Surg patients in an acute-care environment.

RNs will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Floating within non-critical care units is required.

Unit & Clinical Details

• Unit: Acute Care Unit (ACU) – Telemetry / Med-Surg
• Charting System: Cerner
• Floating: Required to non-critical care inpatient units (including ED holds)
• Telemetry Requirements:
  • Self-study of telemetry strips upon acceptance
  • Basic Dysrhythmia exam during first week (must pass to remain on assignment)

Current Ratios:

• Telemetry:

  • Days: 1:4

• Weekends: Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize dysrhythmias
• Assess and document physiologic and psychosocial patient changes
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies
• Respond to cardiac events and changes in patient condition
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results
• Educate patients and families on cardiac health and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Provide a safe, therapeutic patient care environment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year Telemetry experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• BLS and ACLS required
• CPR, TB screening, and health clearance per regulations
• Strong communication skills and English proficiency
• Computer proficiency
• Must meet all federal, state, and facility requirements
