We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity Post Open Heart Recovery Unit in Winston-Salem, NC. This role is ideal for nurses with strong CVICU or open-heart experience who thrive in fast-paced critical care environments.

Position Details

• Specialty: CVICU / Post Open Heart Recovery
• Shift: Nights – 4x12s (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes
• Scrubs: Navy, white, or combination
• Traveler Info: No first-time travelers

Compensation

• Local Rate: $43/hour
• Travel Package (Approx. $2,598/week):
  • $26/hour taxable
  • $476/week meals stipend
  • $770/week housing stipend

Unit & Patient Population

• Post open-heart patients received directly from the OR
• Thoracotomies, esophagogastrostomies, and TAVR patients
• CRRT, Impella, and IABP
• High-acuity cardiovascular ICU setting

Required Experience

• Active RN license (state practicing)
• Minimum 2 years of CC/CVICU experience
• Must have CVICU or open-heart experience
• Strong skills in:
  • Hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz, arterial lines)
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • ECMO, IABP
  • Ventilator management & ABG interpretation
  • Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Blood product administration
  • Central line care
  • Continuous IV sedation

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Systems & Technology

• EMR: Epic
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• Communication: SBAR
• Scheduling: Self-Scheduling
