Position Summary
The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality infusion therapy and patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal communication, particularly in a small, community-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer IV infusion therapies in accordance with physician orders, clinical protocols, and standards of nursing practice
- Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions and intervene as needed
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and symptom evaluation
- Educate patients about infusion treatments, potential side effects, and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with providers, nurse supervisors, and clinic staff to ensure continuity of care
- Follow all infection control, safety, and medication-handling protocols
- Support Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services as applicable and within scope of practice
- Provide compassionate, personable care that reflects the clinic’s community-focused culture
Qualifications
Required
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS/CPR certification (as applicable)
- Strong IV skills and experience with infusion administration
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-relations skills
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as applicable)
- Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred
- Previous experience in infusion therapy
- Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
- Outpatient clinic or ambulatory care experience
- Ability to work independently in a smaller, slower-paced clinical environment
