Position Summary

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality infusion therapy and patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal communication, particularly in a small, community-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer IV infusion therapies in accordance with physician orders, clinical protocols, and standards of nursing practice
• Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions and intervene as needed
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and symptom evaluation
• Educate patients about infusion treatments, potential side effects, and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Collaborate with providers, nurse supervisors, and clinic staff to ensure continuity of care
• Follow all infection control, safety, and medication-handling protocols
• Support Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services as applicable and within scope of practice
• Provide compassionate, personable care that reflects the clinic’s community-focused culture

Qualifications

Required

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current BLS/CPR certification (as applicable)
• Strong IV skills and experience with infusion administration
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-relations skills
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as applicable)
• Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred

• Previous experience in infusion therapy
• Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
• Outpatient clinic or ambulatory care experience
• Ability to work independently in a smaller, slower-paced clinical environment

• Ability to manage a consistent patient flow (approximately 10 patients per nurse per day)
