Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Department: CVICU *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS* - # of Beds: 18 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:01 - Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Open heart, complex thoracic and vascular patients recover on the unit. Patients are stabilized and supported by impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO. Common and advanced cardiac surgeries, lytic cases, carotids and TCARS, Fempop, EVARs/Endo AAAs Unit also supports complex cases coming from cath lab, structural heart program and EP lab, ER, and clinic" - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 1 year of experience with this patient population - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: No CNAs - Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7?: Yes, both in house 24/7 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: All - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No techs- RNs need to be able to read and interpret - Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630, Manager will make schedule - Weekend Requirements: Every other - Holiday Requirements: Every other or as needed for based on unit needs - Is there a call or standby requirement?: N/A - Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 shifts Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidate may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
