Description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide therapy services in a specialized outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independence, motivation, and a commitment to working with children, particularly those with autism and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and deliver ongoing therapy for pediatric patients, including those with neurodevelopmental challenges, developmental delays, and autism.
- Document therapy sessions thoroughly using the EPIC charting system.
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and communication strategies.
- Utilize specialized equipment and alternative communication devices to enhance therapy effectiveness.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and interpretation services.
Work Schedule
Day shift: Four 10-hour days (07:45 AM - 06:00 PM)
Patient Care
Support families and children with a focus on:
- Language disorders
- Fluency issues
- Articulation
- Behavioral challenges
- Complications from prematurity
Qualifications
- Must hold relevant certifications: BLS, CCC-SLP, and state license.
- Experience working in pediatric outpatient settings is required.
- Previous experience with children with autism is essential.
- Ability to perform bedside swallow evaluations and provide dysphagia management (preferred).
Skills Required
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions for pediatric patients
- Understanding of adaptive equipment and augmentative communication
- Familiarity with evaluation tools such as CELF, PLS-4, and Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale
- Experience with Medicaid billing and treatment documentation
- Awareness of patient safety and signs of abuse
