Position Details

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for a position in the Cath Lab. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in both the Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
• Assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations.
• Monitor patient conditions pre and post-procedure.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as required.
• Perform various catheterization procedures including IABP placements and PCI.
• Utilize specialized equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols, including Radiation and Laser Safety standards.
• Document patient care accurately in the Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV Teams, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.

Shift Information

• Schedule: Day Shift, 4x10 Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
• Call shifts are required, averaging 8-10 shifts per month.
• Weekend coverage may be required once or twice a month.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in the Cath Lab setting. No profiles with IR-only experience will be considered.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; prefer additional relevant certifications.
• Experience in a teaching hospital environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with various procedures including but not limited to, cardiac stent placements, left heart catheterizations, and renal interventions.

Patient Demographics

This position deals primarily with adult and geriatric patient populations, focusing on cardiac and interventional radiology diagnoses.

Unit Environment

The Cath Lab consists of 2 procedure rooms, supported by a dedicated team including nurses and various medical specialists. The care provided includes both diagnostic and interventional procedures for cardiac and IR patients.

Additional Information

• Orientation: 40 hours provided.
• Scrubs will be provided for this position.
• The position accepts first-time travelers.
